THE PERSON BEHIND THE PRACTICE

Wehazit Selam
A personal journey shaped by resilience, community, and the belief that caring for yourself matters.
MY JOURNEY
Finding a way forward.
Making space for others.
My journey of crossing borders began when I was just 14 years old, and it was compounded by intense family pressure. Child marriage and early parenthood followed one after another. Next, I crossed the border from Eritrea into Sudan, traversed the Sahara Desert while pregnant, and crossed the sea while a nursing mother—navigating these profound abysses until I finally arrived in Switzerland.
WHY THIS WORK MATTERS
Feeling heard.
Feeling respected.
In addition to living in exile—learning a new language, integrating into a new country, raising children, and managing a household—the emotional wounds, or traumas, that my body had somatized and carried throughout this entire ordeal began to manifest in various ways. To help myself, I sought support in Switzerland, despite not yet fully mastering the language and culture. After learning the language and beginning to work as an interpreter, I found myself absorbing the unresolved traumas of others while accompanying them. Realizing this, my journey of self-healing evolved into over a decade of study and experience. Today, having mastered Hypnotherapy—the very wisdom that helped me—I have come forward to serve and support members of my community who have walked, or are currently walking, a path like mine.
